Scott F. Hutchinson Scholarship

WHAT IS A MENTOR?

"The number and variety of people who have benefited over the years from Scott Hutchinson's coaching will never be known. That's the way Scott prefers it and that's the way mentoring has its greatest impact- when it is invisible except to those who directly benefit." ...-P.D. Merrill   (Read more in our scholarship brochure.)

Scott Hutchinson has lead a remarkable life as a business leader, respected advisor to government and industry and an inspirational role model to countless young people. As President of Canal National Bank, Scott was instrumental in structuring the loan 38 years ago that made Camp Susan Curtis possible. Throughout their lives, Scott and Audrey, his wife of 53 years, have dedicated themselves to a wide variety of philanthropic endeavors in Maine and in doing so, have touched the lives of many. The Scott F. Hutchinson Scholarship was established to convey the significance of character and mentoring, as inspired by Scott's example.  (07/24/09)

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the late P.D. Merrill, to Sandi Goolden and the Merrill Family for this wonderful gift that inspires Maine children to achieve their potential and to give back to their communities.
